Kondodys Copper Sulphate

Reliable Copper Sulphate for Crop Protection and Soil Health

Copper Sulphate is a fungicide used to control fungal and bacterial diseases of fruit, vegetable, nut, and field crops. These diseases include mildew, leaf spots, blights, berry & pod rots. It is used for the preparation of Bordeaux Mixture and other copper-based plant protection applications. It releases active copper ions that effectively control fungal diseases across a wide range of crops.

How to Get the Best Results from the Best Bordeaux Mixture

  • Use Kondodys superior Copper Sulphate (dark blue crystals or powder).

  • Use best-quality lime for a neutral mixture:
700 g of Calcium Oxide (Quick Lime) for 1 kg of Copper Sulphate (1%).

  • Adjuvants like spreaders and wetting agents may be added to enhance sticking efficiency.

  • Bordeaux mixture should be used only when freshly prepared.
If allowed to stand for 12 hours, it loses fungicidal value.

  • The mixture sediments easily; therefore, continuous stirring during use is recommended (a wooden stick is ideal).

  • Do not mix Bordeaux mixture with any other chemical or pesticide.
(Do not add urea, magnesium, zinc, etc.)

  • Avoid spraying on extremely hot days, during temporary plant wilting, or during continuous heavy rains, especially on newly emerged tender foliage.

  • Do not dump leftover Bordeaux mixture in the field, as it may be toxic to subsequent crops.

Bordeaux Mixture – Preparation & Application

Copper Sulphate (Powder or Crystals) mixed in 1:1 proportion with Akarshana® Lime in 100 litres of clean water (50 litres Copper Sulphate solution + 50 litres Lime solution), when thoroughly stirred, forms Bordeaux Mixture—a proven organic fungicide.

When sprayed on foliage, it effectively protects crops such as Coffee, Arecanut, Plantain, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Pepper, Vanilla, Rubber, Plantain, Orange, Pomegranate, Grapes, Plantations, Garden lawns, and other crops from a wide range of fungal diseases.

Spray Schedule & Recommendations

  • Method: Foliar spray

  • Best time for application:

    • Post-monsoon (May end, June, July)
    • Before torrential rains
    • Avoid spray during periods of heavy rainfall
    • Second spray preferred in August, September and October
  • Frequency:

    • 2 to 3 sprays are recommended during monsoon conditions to ensure strong and lasting protection
